In a dystopian future ruled by a fundamentalist theocratic dictatorship, Offred is forced to live as a concubine in Gilead. Season two follows her pregnancy and her struggle to protect her future child from the regime’s horrors. As Aunt Lydia’s warning that “Gilead is within you” hangs over them, Offred and those around her resist, endure, or begin to give in to its power.
