At the height of the Cold War in the 1980s, Elizabeth and Philip Jennings live in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., as an ordinary American married couple. In secret, they are Soviet KGB officers operating undercover. Their carefully constructed lives grow more complicated with their neighbor Stan Beeman, an FBI Counterintelligence agent, living close by.
