An archivist is hired to restore a collection of damaged videotapes, but the work soon draws him into the mystery recorded on them. As he reconstructs the efforts of a filmmaker, he uncovers her investigation into a dangerous cult and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, pulling him deeper into a disturbing case with demonic undertones.
