Set against the backdrop of the 2011 UK summer riots, Urban Hymn follows Jamie, a troubled teenage girl and young offender with a remarkable singing voice. When she meets Kate, a determined, inspiring and unconventional social worker, Jamie is encouraged to recognize the power of her talent and consider using it as a way forward.
