A widowed field mouse faces a desperate race to protect her family when a farmer’s plow threatens their home. With her young son too ill to be moved easily, she seeks help beyond the field, aided by a crow and a colony of superintelligent rats who escaped from a laboratory. As she fights to move her family to safer ground, she discovers her connection to the rats may run deeper than she imagined.
