Les Franken is a lonely metermaid and devoted comic book fan whose life takes a strange turn after a reaction to his medication. Convinced that he has become a superhero, he begins to see himself as one of the truly gifted. As his belief grows, Special follows an ordinary man caught between isolation, fantasy, and the need to feel extraordinary.
