Seventeen-year-old Zachary is released from jail with nowhere to go after his mother rejects him. Back on the rough streets of Marseille, he drifts through a world that offers little protection or stability. There he meets Sheherazade, a young prostitute, and falls in love with her, becoming drawn into her life and, without fully understanding it, taking on the role of her pimp.
