In Gus Van Sant’s remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic, Marion Crane, a young bank employee in Phoenix, steals money from her boss and leaves town. Her flight takes her to Fairvale, California, where she stops at the rundown Bates Motel. As Marion tries to stay out of sight, the isolated motel proves to have troubling secrets of its own.
