On a spacecraft carrying thousands of people to a distant colony planet, the passengers are meant to remain in sleep chambers for the long voyage. When a malfunction disrupts the system, one passenger wakes far too soon, with 90 years still left before arrival. As the problem spreads, a second passenger is also awakened, leaving them facing an impossible stretch of time aboard the ship.
