Moorish general Othello believes he has found happiness with his new wife, Desdemona, until doubt is carefully planted in his mind. Iago, a bitter ensign with his own hidden scheme, manipulates Othello into suspecting that Desdemona is having an affair with his lieutenant, Michael Cassio, turning trust and love into dangerous suspicion.
