Frankie Dunn, an ill-tempered veteran boxing trainer, is weighed down by a painful estrangement from his daughter and has little interest in taking on anyone new. Then Maggie Fitzgerald, an aspiring boxer with fierce determination, pushes her way into his life and asks him to train her. Reluctantly, Frankie agrees, and as Maggie’s talent grows, the two form a close and unexpected bond.
