In 1920s Ireland, revolutionary leader Michael Collins becomes a central figure in the fight for Irish self-rule. He leads a guerrilla war against the UK, helps negotiate the creation of the Irish Free State, and later commands the National Army during the Irish Civil War, even as former allies who want a fully independent republic come to see him as a betrayer.
