Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella hears a mysterious voice urging him to do something he can barely believe: turn his ordinary cornfield into a baseball diamond. With the support of his wife, Ray follows the call, only to find that the voice has more directions for him even after the spirits of deceased ballplayers appear on the field.
