A young ex-con, newly released and struggling with bad luck and an unpredictable streak, returns to a dead-end town with little hope of starting over. He becomes drawn to the girl next door, a restless young woman weighed down by her troubled family. As their bond turns obsessive, the two look for a way out, only to sink deeper into crime and desperation.
