After being found guilty of murdering his wife, an African American man is sent to prison and placed in solitary confinement. Isolated from the outside world, he is haunted by his own inner demons and the presence of his dead wife. As the strain of confinement deepens, an abusive female guard pushes him closer to the breaking point.
