After a 1960s bomb scare sends the Webber family into their nuclear fallout shelter, they remain sealed away for 35 years. When Adam finally emerges, he steps into modern Los Angeles with a sheltered view of the world and a practical mission: find food and supplies for his family, and, if possible, a non-mutant wife for himself.
