A year after losing his family in an accident, Gunnar sets out across Iceland on foot to honor their memory and visit the place where they died. His solitary journey is interrupted when he meets Ewa, a young Polish traveler who has fled her past. As they continue along the road, their chance encounter brings two people marked by loss and escape into each other’s lives.
